What compensation cover is included? How does it work?

Last updated on 05 Jun, 2026

Whilst damage or loss is rare with Sherpr, all orders sent with Sherpr include £100.00 compensation (or it's payment currency equivalent) cover as standard.

You can increase your cover in different increments to suit your shipping needs. The maximum level of compensation cover offered is £1500. We always recommend availing a higher cover, depending on the value of your items being shipped.

Please note there are restrictions regarding compensation cover as per our Terms and Conditions and Prohibited and Non Compensation items list.

Can I book additional compensation cover through a 3rd party service?

You can book additional insurance cover for your shipment through a 3rd party service. However, please bear in mind that doing so will waive any insurance booked with Sherpr, whether this is the standard cover or otherwise.

If such 3rd party insurance has been arranged, claims for damage or loss must be dealt with yourself through the company you have booked the insurance with.

Are shipping delays or missed collections covered by my compensation cover?

Compensation covers are strictly for the use of any claims relating to loss or damage on your shipment. Any shipment issues outside of a damage or loss claim may be reviewed by our team as per our customer complaints procedure.

If you are purchasing a higher compensation cover for items that are listed as prohibited or non-compensation. these will not be covered in the event of a claim.
