I did not pay duties and taxes when I arrived in the country via commercial flight. Why am I paying them when shipping via courier?

When you are travelling internationally and bringing hand carry and/or checked luggage, the items inside are considered accompanied personal effects.

However, when shipping via courier service, you acknowledge that your goods will be declared as unaccompanied personal effects and can still be subject to duties and taxes at any time. Furthermore, because the goods are uncompannied and transported via a courier service, your belongings are subject to the same procedures that commercial shipments undergo.

In cases where your shipment may be eligible for duty and/or tax exemption, our team will assist you in the application of such exemptions.

Sherpr is not liable for occasions wherein no exemption is offered by the relevant customs’ agency of the country you are shipping to, and you acknowledge that you are responsible for providing all necessary documents needed for exemption ahead of shipping.
